摘要 The present invention relates to a ballast water treatment apparatus including a chamber where ballast water to be inspected is accommodated; a means which is provided in a lower portion of the chamber to stir the ballast water accommodated in the chamber; a sensor unit which is disposed in an upper portion of the chamber to measure dissolved oxygen of the ballast water accommodated in the chamber; a sealing means which is disposed on the outside of the chamber to seal the chamber from the outside; a light source which emits light into the chamber; a controller which is electrically connected to the stirring means, the light source, and the sensor unit, stirs the ballast water by controlling the stirring means, controls the light source so that the chamber is put in a bright condition and a dark condition, and allows the dissolved oxygen to be measured in the bright condition and the dark condition by controlling the sensor unit; and a data treatment unit which turns the degree of microbial reduction of the ballast water into data based on a measurement value from the sensor unit in the bright condition and the dark condition, and to a ballast water treatment method using the same. According to the present invention, the degree of microbial reduction can be simply measured and ballast water inspection costs can be saved.
