The ring (8) has a metal wire portion comprising a non-circular transverse generating section. The section has parallel sides extending parallel to a section axis. The section axis has a component directed in a direction of central axis (A-A) of the ring, where the section axis is parallel to the central axis of ring. The parallel sides are extended at distance identical to each other on all the extent of the wire portion. Shoulder segments (46) connect radially distal segments (42) and radially proximal segments (44). An independent claim is also included for a homokinetic joint.
