<p>The catheter has an inflatable balloon (11) in the distal region of a catheter shaft (10), and a vent passage (12) with an inlet opening (15) and an outlet opening (17) for escaping fluid from the balloon. A guide channel (14) is formed in the catheter shaft distal to balloon and a closure unit (13) closes the vent passage. A connecting channel portion (16) is formed in the catheter shaft and the inlet opening is fluidly connected with the outlet opening. The guide channel and connecting channel portion are provided such that vent passage is closed by closure unit. An independent claim is included for a method of flushing balloon catheter.</p> |
