PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obliterate, when treating a boron-containing effluent, a need for a large precipitation tank for precipitating and separating a large volume of sludge generated due to use of copious slaked lime.SOLUTION: The boron-containing effluent treatment method includes: a reaction step where an aluminum compound, sulfuric acid compound, a calcium compound, and a pH adjuster are added to a boron-containing effluent and deposits are precipitated in a reaction liquid whose pH has been adjusted within an alkaline range; and a solid-liquid separating step where the reaction liquid is separated into the deposits and clean treated water. The solid-liquid separating step is a separation step of passing the reaction liquid through a separation membrane comprising a ceramic material. According to this method, the separation membrane is unlikely to become clogged during filtration and, thus, a large precipitation tank is unnecessary. |
