PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor that compactly has narrow spacing between a coil and a magnetic core.SOLUTION: A reactor 1A includes a coil 2 comprising a pair of connected coil elements 2a, 2b comprising turns of winding wire, and a magnetic core 3. The reactor 1A is used in an on-vehicle converter for converting an input voltage so as to output the input voltage. Energization conditions are a maximum DC current of 100 A or more and 1,000 A or less, an average voltage of 100 V or more and 1,000 V or less, and a usable frequency of 5 kHz or more and 100 kHz or less. The magnetic core 3 comprises a plurality of divided core pieces 31, 31, 32, 32 combined without gaps in between. The divided core pieces 31, 31, 32, 32 all comprise molded cured bodies made by resin curing from a composite material including a magnetic powder and a resin. Spacing t between inner circumferential surfaces of the coil elements 2a, 2b and an outer circumferential surface of the magnetic core 3 opposed to the inner circumferential surfaces is 0.1 mm or more and 2 mm or less. |
