PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of performing efficient cooling of a light source part and a detection switch while suppressing a size increase.SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes: a light source device 31 having a light source part and a casing for a light source in which the light source part is housed; an external casing 2 having an opening 214 to/from which the light source device 31 is attached/detached and a first suction hole and a second suction hole 232 for sucking outdoor air; a lid body 24 for closing the opening 214; a detection switch 61 for detecting the open state of the opening 214; a first fan for sending air to the light source part; a first flow channel for allowing air sent from the first fan to flow to the light source part; an exhaust fan 721 as a second fan to be driven for allowing outdoor air to flow inside from the second suction hole 232; and a second flow channel for guiding air flowing from the second suction hole 232 to the detection switch 61 and the exhaust fan 721.
