PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate printing by controlling an exposure pattern overlapping a plurality of exposure lines.SOLUTION: A partial exposure pattern to be used in partial binary image data whose photographic density is represented by a specific pattern is selected on the basis of a plurality of patch images formed on the basis of each of a plurality of partial exposure pattern candidates. Each of the plurality of partial exposure pattern candidates indicates an exposure position within a partial output region which is a position to be exposed on the surface of a photoreceptor, and which is a partial region overlapping N exposure lines (N is an integer greater than or equal to 2) which are contiguous along a first exposure direction correlated with a first image direction among a plurality of exposure lines extending in a second exposure direction correlated with a second image direction. |
