The brake shoe (5) has an intermediate layer which is provided with an upper surface structure on its side facing a support plate, so that the intermediate layer has different thicknesses in axial direction at locations which are spaced with respect to a rotational axis (3) in circumferential direction or radial direction. An upper surface of the intermediate layer is planar and faces a friction lining. The upper surface structure has an inclined surface or a recess. An independent claim is included for a braking device with a brake disk.
