PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate generation of an input image to each projection apparatus when projecting one projection target image by overlapping projected images of a plurality of projection apparatuses.SOLUTION: A projection apparatus acquires a first partial image as a part of a projection target image. Also, the projection apparatus receives, from another projection apparatus, a first overlap image not included in the first partial image within an image corresponding to a predetermined overlap area where a projected image projected by the other projection apparatus overlaps a projected image projected by the projection apparatus. Then, a composite image obtained by combining the received first overlap image with the first partial image is projected.
