The optical system has spectrally resolved optical sensor (11) for detecting a light spectrum. A controllable optical spectral absorption element (1) is provided for absorbing a portion of the light spectrum detected by the sensor. The absorption element has electrochromic assemblies (2,3) provided with electrochromic layer (2.1,3.1). The electrochromic layer is assigned in color spectrum. The electrochromic assemblies are arranged such that they are offset from one another in the same plane or in different planes.
