The present invention relate to a battery cell which has a battery case in which an electrode assembly which has a separator interposed between an anode and a cathode is formed. Provided is a battery cell comprising a battery case and an electrode assembly. The battery case includes an upper case and a lower case, wherein a first receiving part is formed in the upper case for receiving the electrode assembly and a second receiving part is formed in the lower case. The size of the first receiving part is different from the size of the second receiving part. The electrode assembly has an outer surface shape corresponding to the inner surface shape of a first receiving part and a second receiving part.
