A conduit, such as an introducer sheath, catheter, or guide catheter, incorporating two or more separate lumens to prevent the entanglement of guidewires located at least partially within the conduit. The lumens are separated by at least one disruptable barrier that allows multiple lumens to be converted into fewer lumens prior to or as a device is advanced through the introducer sheath.

1. A method of manufacturing an introducer sheath, said method comprising:
providing a mandrel extending along a longitudinal axis thereof and having a cylindrical outer surface, the mandrel having at least first and second sections each extending along the longitudinal axis; placing a film tubular member around one of the at least first and second sections of the mandrel; sandwiching a portion of the tubular member between the at least first and second sections, the portion of the tubular member defining a disruptable barrier for an introducer sheath; extending a film layer about the mandrel, the film layer having an adhesive; curing the adhesive to form an introducer sheath having a disruptable barrier; and removing the mandrel from the introducer sheath.
