On the outer periphery of the crown region of a carcass which extends toroidally between a pair of bead units, this heavy duty tire comprises, arranged from the inside in the radial direction of the tire in order, a first belt layer comprising a cord extending inclined at an angle of greater than 45° with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire, a second belt layer comprising a cord extending in the circumferential direction of the tire, and a third belt layer comprising a cord extending inclined at an angle of no more than 30° in the opposite direction of the cord of the first belt layer with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire. Setting the width w3 of the third belt layer to 80% or greater than the tread width w, and defining w1 as the width of the first belt layer and w2 as the width of the second belt layer, it holds that w2<w1<w3. |
