<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device for body hair that can detect a decrease in the transmittance of a protection component.SOLUTION: A light irradiation device 10 for body hair includes a housing component 11, a light source component 12, a protection component 13, and a detector 40. The protection component 13 covers the light source component 12. The light source component 12 outputs light which penetrates the protection component 13. The detector 40 includes a detecting light source part 41 and a deterioration informing part 45. The detecting light source part 41 includes a detecting light emission part 42, a detected light receiving part 43, and a deterioration determining part 44. The detecting light emission part 42 emits light which penetrates the protection component 13. The detected light receiving part 43 receives light which is outputted from the detecting light emission part 42. The detected light receiving part 43 outputs a photocurrent generated according to the received light to the deterioration determining part 44. The deterioration determining part 44 outputs a deterioration detecting signal to a deterioration informing part 45 when the voltage of the photocurrent is less than a reference voltage. The deterioration informing part 45 performs deterioration informing operation according to the deterioration detecting signal.</p> |
