High-caloric enteral tube feed having an energy content of at least 2 kcal/ml, comprises protein (8-14 g/100 ml) and a mineral substance containing magnesium (at least 20 mg/ml), sodium (at least 70 mg/ml) and/or chloride (at least 90 mg/100 mole). An independent claim is also included for preparing the high-caloric enteral tube feed, comprising (a) mixing the components of the feed into a mixture, and (b) heating the mixture obtained in the step (a) at 120-145[deg] C, where heating in the step (b) is carried out until a lethality value (F 0value) of 6-15 is achieved.
