<p>An objective of the present invention is to protect a switch circuit unit by measuring a current value of a switch circuit unit with respect to an input voltage by monitoring a current flowing inside the switch circuit unit, and blocking a current of the switch circuit unit when a value of a current flowing through the switch circuit unit is greater than or equal to a stable operating current value. To this end, provided is an LED lighting apparatus for protecting the switch circuit unit through current control, including: a power source to supply input power; a rectifying circuit to receive the input power from the power source and to output rectified power; an LED unit having at least one LED channel serially connected and a resistor unit connected to a last end of the LED channel; a current sensing resistor; a switch circuit including at least one switch, in which an m^th switch is connected to a back end of an m^th LED channel and a last switch is connected to a back end of the last switch through the resistor unit and a current conversion switch, and a prior switch is controlled by a sum of a current of two neighboring switches flowing through the current sensing resistor; the current conversion switch provided between the resistor unit and the last switch to block the current flowing through a switch circuit; and a current controller to block the current flowing through the switch circuit by controlling the current conversion switch when an overcurrent is flowing through the switch circuit.
