摘要 A liquid crystal display device 10 according to the present invention includes: LEDs 17; a liquid crystal panel 11 capable of displaying images through light from the LEDs 17; a light guide plate 16 that is disposed so as to overlap the side opposite to a display surface 11c of the liquid crystal panel 11 and that has end faces facing the LEDs 17; a chassis 14 disposed on the side of the light guide plate 16 opposite to the liquid crystal panel 11; a light transmissive panel 13 that is arranged so as to overlap the display surface 11c of the liquid crystal panel 11, that houses the LEDs 17 between the light transmissive panel 13 and the chassis 14, and that sandwiches the liquid crystal panel 11 and the light guide plate 16 while allowing light to pass through; and a light-shielding member 25 that is disposed on the light transmissive panel 13 surrounding a display area AA of the liquid crystal panel 11 and that blocks light around the display area AA, a part of the light-shielding member being made of a transparent part 26 that allows light to pass through.

A display device, comprising: a light source; a display panel having a display surface and a display area within the display surface, the display area being where the image is displayed using light from the light source; a light guide plate that is disposed so as to overlap a side of the display panel opposite to the display surface and that has an end face opposing the light source; a chassis disposed on a side of the light guide plate opposite to the display panel; a light transmissive panel that is disposed so as to cover the display panel on the side of the display surface and that allows light to pass through, the light transmissive panel and the chassis sandwiching the display panel and the light guide plate while housing the light source therebetween; and a light-shielding member provided to the light transmissive panel, the light-shielding member being arranged so as to surround the display area of the display panel to block light around said display area, a part of the light-shielding member being made of a transparent part that allows light to pass therethrough.
