The steered beam axle (10) has cross-element (12) and longitudinal arm (14) that is aligned in respective transverse direction (FQ) and longitudinal direction (FL) of vehicle. The longitudinal arm is pivotally mounted on wheel support (16) about pivot axis (18). A steering arm (22) is moved with pivotal movement of wheel support about the pivot axis for permitting translatory action of steering actuator (26) operatively connected to steering arm. The steering actuator is arranged on main portion of vehicle along longitudinal direction of vehicle.
