PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging element, an image reading device, and an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a dynamic range of image data from being reduced even after resolution conversion.SOLUTION: A solid state imaging element includes: a photoelectric conversion unit that converts light into electric signals for each pixel and outputs the electric signals; a signal separation unit that separates offset signals generated due to dark current from the electric signals output from the photoelectric conversion unit, and outputs image signals being the electric signals converted from the light for each pixel, and a signal addition unit that adds the image signals output from the signal separation unit for each of the plurality of pixels.
