PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsifier for emulsion polymerization excellent in emulsion polymerization stability ("polymerization stability") at emulsion polymerization of monomers including butadiene, high in polymer recovery rate from a rubber latex by addition of a coagulant, and excellent in processability of a polymer obtained by collection. ! SOLUTION: There is provided an emulsifier for emulsion polymerization for emulsion polymerization of constitutional monomers including butadiene, containing one or more kind of surfactant (A) selected from the group consisting of a nonionic surfactant (A1) having a hydrogen atom having a bond dissociation energy between carbon-hydrogen of 400 kJ/mol or less in a molecule and a cloud point of 1 wt.% solution of 25 to 100°C and an anionic surfactant (A2) having a carboxylate group containing the hydrogen atom having the bond dissociation energy between carbon-hydrogen of 400 kJ/mol or less in the molecule. !
