PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device in which even when the multipath number m is not a multiple of the number of the column thinning n, the number of discharge of each domain in a recording head is made as equal as possible, and the image defects can be mitigated which is due to generation of an air current. ! SOLUTION: In a dot arrangement pattern which corresponds with the level value of an image data and determines recording or non-recording of the dot, a different pattern is set up for every unit domain such that the number of discharge per every unit domain of the recording head is not exceed a predetermined number of times. Thereby, the number of discharge in each domain of the recording head is made uniform, and the image defects can be mitigated which is due to generation of an air current. !
