The present invention provides a suction apparatus capable of reducing wasteful consumption of a liquid in a suction operation of eliminating clogging of a nozzle by sucking a filled liquid into an exhaust head from a nozzle of the exhaust head, a suction method using the suction apparatus, and a discharge apparatus including the suction apparatus. The suction apparatus (70A) for an ejection head (50) provided with a nozzle, includes a cap that is capable of sealing a nozzle surface (58p) provided with the nozzle; a decompressing pump (73) serving as a decompression device; and a suction passage (77) provided between the cap (72) and the decompressing pump (73). A liquid filled in the ejection head (50) is sucked out from the nozzle by controlling the volume of the suction passage (77) and a negative pressure level of the suction passage (77) due to the decompressing pump (73). |
