[Problem] To provide an imaging device capable of performing composition detection and automatic imaging processing which take into account a time lag spanning from the detection of a composition to the start of an imaging operation. [Solution] Provided is an imaging device provided with: a composition detection unit which calculates a time at which a user-specified subject included in an image being imaged will adopt a user-specified composition; a time-interval calculation unit which calculates a time interval spanning from the issuing of a start instruction for an imaging operation, until the image is imaged; and an imaging control unit which receives the start instruction for the imaging operation, and starts imaging processing for the image. The composition detection unit instructs the imaging control unit to start the imaging operation at a moment that is a time interval before the time at which the user-specified composition is adopted, said time interval being the time interval calculated by the time-interval calculation unit. |
