PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a device itself without requiring a plurality of light emitting units.SOLUTION: A light source device using light emitted from multiple wavelength conversion members as illumination light and emitting the illumination light according to multiple observation modes from the same light emitting unit comprises: multiple excitation light sources emitting multiple excitation light beams having different spectra respectively; the multiple wavelength conversion members performing wavelength conversion of the multiple excitation light beams emitted from the multiple excitation light sources to light beams having different spectra respectively and arranged in a common irradiation area irradiated with the multiple excitation light beams; an input unit inputting multiple observation modes including an ordinary light observation mode and special light observation modes to highlight a specific observation target; and a light source control unit making it possible to switch combinations of illuminating excitation light sources among the multiple excitation light sources on the basis of the observation mode input in the input unit.
