PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sidewall rubber composition which can improve fuel economy, flexing crack growth resistance and breaking-resistant strength in a balanced manner, and a pneumatic tire having a sidewall formed using the same.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a sidewall rubber composition that contains 5-150 pts.mass of silica with respect to 100 pts.mass of rubber components. In the rubber components of 100 mass%, BR of 50-70 mass% and NR of 30-50 mass% are contained. A BR-containing phase (I) forms a continuous phase independently of a NR-containing phase (II). An amount of silica included in the phase (I) and an amount of silica included in the phase (II) fall within a predetermined range. |
