PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact display device capable of projecting, in a space, a three-dimensional image giving rich depth feeling, utilizing a display unit having a relatively small area. ! SOLUTION: A display device includes a panel-type imaging optical element (M) and a display unit (D) such as LCD. The display device images an image (image I) displayed on the display unit D as a spatial image I' in a space above the imaging optical element. A magnifying optical element (Fresnel lens R) having an image magnifying function is arranged between a lower surface Mb of the imaging optical element (M) and a display surface Da of the display unit D. Thus, the image displayed on the display unit D is imaged while being magnified, so as to emerge in the space on an upper surface Ma side of the imaging optical element. !
