A slide lock apparatus for locking the slide of a press machine is provided with: a flange member that is fixedly fitted over a shaft member that rotates in cooperation with the vertical operation of the slide, and has a flange part that is parallel to the plane perpendicular to the axis of the shaft member; a ring-shaped main member that is fixed to the main frame of the press machine, and has a ring-shaped member facing the flange part with a gap interposed therebetween; a plurality of retaining holes formed in the ring-shaped member; a plurality of pin members movably mounted in the plurality of retaining holes; a plurality of actuators capable of driving the plurality of pin members from a retracted position at which the pin members are not advanced toward the flange part to an advanced position at which the pin members are caused to advance to a state in which the pin members penetrate the introduction holes of the flange part; a first lock member capable of locking the plurality of pin members in the retracted position; a first drive means capable of rotatably driving the first lock member between a locked position and an unlocked position; a second lock member capable of locking the plurality of pin members in the advanced position; and a second drive means capable of rotatably driving the second lock member between a locked position and an unlocked position.
