<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a control device of an air conditioner and an operating method thereof which are capable of preventing power consumption in circuit elements or parts to convert power required by the control part of the control device, or are capable of preventing power consumption in the air conditioner in a standby state. According to the present invention to accomplish the purpose, a control device of an air conditioner has a control part receiving common power from a common power supply and controlling the operation of the air conditioner, wherein the control part having an auxiliary power input part additionally receiving power from an external auxiliary power supply different from the common power supply is operated by the power supplied through the auxiliary power input part. According to the present invention, power consumption in circuit elements or parts to convert the common power into low-voltage direct current power in the control device can be prevented; power consumption in an outdoor unit or an indoor unit which has the control device and which is in a standby state can be prevented; and especially, a leading power factor due to a capacitor can be improved for an inverter outdoor unit in a standby state.</p> |
