Disclosed are a method of determining a candidate block when inter-screen prediction is performed, and an apparatus using the same. An image decoding method may include a step of including a left lower second block in a merge candidate list when a left lower second block is available, a step of including an upper right second block in a merge candidate list when the upper right second block is available, a step of including a left lower first block in a merge candidate list when the left lower first block is available, a step of including an upper right first block in a merge candidate list when the upper right first block is available, a step of including an upper left second block in a merge candidate list when the upper left second block is available, and a step of including a time candidate predication block in a merge candidate block list. Accordingly, encoding efficiency can be improved and complexity can be decreased. |
