The system has signal generator (G1) which generates transmission signal (S5). A receiver (D1) detects signal of transmitter (H1). A compensation transmitter (K1) is fed with compensation transmission signal (S3). The control characteristic of controller (CTi) is selected, such that the amplitude of receiver output signal (S1) for application in absence of disturbances up to by regulator and parasitic elements of system caused control error are considered constant. The values for generating compensation transmission signal for feeding compensation channel are used. An independent claim is included for a method for operating delay measurement system.
