PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss caused in the case of reverse recovery of a parasitic diode.SOLUTION: A neutral point clamp type electric power conversion device comprises: a DC power supply having three electric potential; first to fourth semiconductor switches connected in series between positive electric potential and negative electric potential of DC voltage generated by the DC power supply toward the negative electric potential from the positive electric potential; a first clamp diode which is connected between neutral point electric potential of the DC power supply and a connection point between the first and second semiconductor switches, and whose anode is the neutral point electric potential; a second clamp diode which is connected between the neutral point electric potential and a connection point between the third and fourth semiconductor switches, and whose cathode is the neutral point electric potential; and an output terminal connected between the second and third semiconductor switches.
