PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of always-on imaging apparatuses to reduce power consumption, while properly obtaining a state of a traveling vehicle.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 10 includes: an imaging unit 11 which images a vehicle traveling on a road to generate image data; a communication unit 13 which communicates with other imaging apparatuses 10 in daisy-chain connection; a measuring unit 141 which analyzes the generated image data to measure speed of the vehicle; a selection unit 143 which selects at least any of the imaging apparatuses 10 daisy-chain connected, on the basis of the measured speed; and a transmission control unit 144 which transmits instruction information to the selected imaging apparatus 10 to measure the speed via the communication unit 13.
