PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for interfering with the function of a target protein, the present invention belonging to the field of functional proteomics and more particularly to the field of protein aggregation.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for down-regulating the biological function of a protein by using a non-naturally, user-designed molecule, designated as interferer, which has a specificity for a target protein and which induces aggregation upon contact with the target protein, and provides such interferer molecules and their use in therapeutic applications.
