A balloon catheter (1) is provided with an inner tube (3) comprising a first lumen (11), an outer tube section (2) that is provided coaxially with the inner tube (3) and that forms a second lumen in the interval between said outer tube section (2) and the outer surface of the inner tube, and a balloon section (4) having a tip section that is fixed to the tip section of the inner tube (3) and an inner section that connects with the second lumen (12). The balloon section (4) comprises an expanded section (40) having a preformed expanded shape and is capable of elastically deforming so as surpass the expanded shape when filled with a balloon expansion fluid. The outer tube section (2) extends from the rear edge section of the expanded section (40) of the balloon section (4) in the base end direction, is integrally formed with the balloon section (4) using the same material, and comprises a substantially non-expandable tip-side sleeve section (21). |
