PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymorph of zofenopril calcium that inhibits an angiotensin converting enzyme and useful for diseases such as hypertension, myocardial infarction, or heart failure, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the polymorph.SOLUTION: This invention provides zofenopril calcium form E having an XRPD spectrum (Figure 1) comprising at least four of the 2θpeaks: 4.2, 4.8, 9.6, 17.5, 18.0, 19.3, 19.9, 20.6 and 24.4±0.2 degrees 2θ, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the polymorph.
