发明名称 Improvements relating to electric transmission systems for vehicles
摘要 669,576. Transmitting mechanical power. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. April 5, 1950 [April 5, 1949], No. 9299/49. Class 38 (iv). A prime-mover 1, such as a gas turbine, drives a locomotive through an electric power transmission system comprising alternators A1, A2 both driven by the prime-mover (preferably in opposite directions to avoid gyroscopic effects) and separately feeding a group of induction type traction motors, such as M1-M3 and M4-M6. The motors, or alternators, or both, are of the pole-changing type and associated with appropriate switchgear, such as S1-S6, by which pole-changing may be effected. Separate excitation regulators 4, 5, preferably motor actuated, are provided for the alternators so that pole-changing in one alternator-motor group may be effected with low alternator excitation whilst full excitation is maintained for the alternator of the other group which is not then undergoing polechange. A normal or automatic master controller 6 controls the pole-changing switchgear and the excitation regulators according to a predetermined sequence. The prime-mover may also operate at a number of different speeds. Specification 660,556, [Group XXXI], is referred to.
