Provided is a latch (100) for a sliding door in which reliability on opening/closing, and stability and durability on operation are improved. The latch (100) for a sliding door includes a first assembly (10) fixed to a doorframe (150); a second assembly (20) fixed to a door (50) fitted to the doorframe; and a third assembly (30) selectively attached to or separated from the first assembly and the second assembly. The door (50) is primarily moved toward the direction of the first assembly (10) when the third assembly (30) is attached to the second assembly (20) so as to attach the third assembly to the first assembly. The door (50) is secondarily moved by being pushed further in the same direction as the primarily-moved direction when the third assembly (30) is attached to the first assembly (10) to separate the third assembly (30) from the first assembly (10), so that the door to which the second assembly (20) and the third assembly (30) are attached can be moved in the opposite direction from the primarily-moved direction. When the door (50) is pulled in the opposite direction from the primarily-moved direction by force when the third assembly (30) is attached to the first assembly (10), the third assembly (30) is separated from the second assembly (20), so that the first assembly (10) and the third assembly (30) can maintain the state of being attached to one another. |
