<p>A software function is enabled depending upon the detected overlap 1558 of two active regions on the surface of an interactive display 1560. The display detects two contact points 1550 and 1552 and associated pressure data. An active region is defined extending from each contact point, its size 1554a,b or 1556a,b being dependent on the detected pressure at the contact points. The function can be the highlighting of common locations from two contact points on a map, such as intermediate geographical locations. Also described are varying control points in Bezier curves, defining direction and amount of rotation of selected objects, determining the ratio of colours for color mixing. A condition of the software application can be determined based upon pressure data, contact points position data, control data associated with contact points, e.g. selection data derived from the state of a switch of a pointing device.</p> |
