MONITORING DEVICE FOR OPTICAL SIGNAL IN PLANAR LIGHT WAVE CIRCUITS

The present invention relates to a device for monitoring an optical signal in a planar lightwave circuit (PLC). The device includes: a PLC which delivers an optical signal; a reflective block which reflects the optical signal delivered from the PLC, and has a sloped surface such that the optical signal delivered from the PLC is reflected to be received in an optical detector; and the optical detector which detects the optical signal received by being reflected by the reflective block, wherein the PLC has one side surface with a part of a clad layer etched or with a groove formed therein and has an upper surface etched or with a groove formed therein to mount the reflective block and the optical detector, such that a core positioned in the PLC can be exposed.
