The device (1) has a baffle plate (9) attached in a hollow structure to be protected, where a part to be protected of the hollow structure is covered in a transport direction (T) such that bodies (7) impinge on the baffle plate in place of the part to be protected during transport of the hollow structure. A fixed bearing or a swivel bearing (10) is provided at a side of the baffle plate for fixedly mounting or swingably mounting the baffle plate at the hollow structure. The baffle plate comprises a shaft profile provided with profile grooves.
