PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece mounting method capable of easily mounting/detaching a box workpiece to/from a workpiece mounting device, a method of detaching the workpiece, a work piece holding tool and a workpiece supporting tool which are used for the mounting and detachment, and a workpiece mounting system. SOLUTION: The workpiece holding tools 3 holding the box workpiece 1 are set in the workpiece supporting tools 4 of a positioner, so as to easily mount the box workpiece 1 to the positioner. By detaching the workpiece holding tools 3 from the workpiece supporting tools 4, the box workpiece 1 held by the workpiece holding tools 3 can be detached from the positioner. The workpiece holding tool 3 includes: clamp parts 30 capable of holding the workpiece 1; and a set part 31 which can be set in the workpiece supporting tool 4. The positioner includes the workpiece supporting tools 4 in which the workpiece holding tools 3 holding the workpiece 1 can be set, and fixation tools 42 capable of fixing the workpiece holding tools 3 set in the workpiece supporting tools 4.
