<p>The coupling assembly 16 couples one or more longitudinally extending restraining members to a post 12 secured on or in the ground. The coupling comprises an attachment member 22 for attaching the coupling assembly to the restraining members and a coupling 26, 28 that couples the assembly to the post. In the event of an impact of energy exceeding a first threshold, the coupling is linearly moveable between a first position and a second position to longitudinally displace the coupling and restraining members from the post member to increase the height of the assembly and restraining members. Also claimed is a road safety barrier comprising the assembly, the post and the restraining members. The assembly may resist raising on impact by having a bolt passing through an elongate slot 26 wherein the slot is shaped wider than the bolt at the top of the slot but narrower lower down, perhaps in a dog bone shape.</p> |
