The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing cyanate ester compound formed by cyanogen bromide and Dicyclopentadiene-phenol compound. The high purity cyanate ester compound is manufactured via a washing process by isopropyl alcohol (IPA), water, and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and demonstrates excellent performance of heat resistance, low dielectric constant and low hygroscopicity required in electric substrates such as printed circuit boards (PCB) and copper clad laminates (CCL).
