The adapter (1) has a mounting device for accommodating the stamp adapter in a stamp shaft. A stamp receptacle (6) includes an opening with a central axis (8) extending parallel to and separate from another central axis (2). A circular cylindrical counterbore and a circular cylindrical through-hole (7) through which the former central axis extends are provided. The counterbore is not rotationally symmetrical with respect to the former central axis. The counterbore comprises radial orientated cylindrical recesses that are not rotationally symmetrical with respect to the former central axis. An independent claim is also included for a tool system with a tool lower portion comprising a die adapter having two die receptacles.
