The present invention relates to a power converter for high voltage direct current transmission. The present invention includes a 12-pulse diode rectifier which rectifies AC power, to 12-pulse, received by an resolution side linkage point which is connected in series with two three-phase bridge diode rectifiers; and a voltage-type converter which is connected in series with the lower part of the 12-pulse diode rectifier. The voltage-type converter controls the voltage of AC power received from the resolution side linkage point and the direct link voltage of the voltage-type convertor.
