The present invention includes a cleaning composition that includes at least one alkalinity source, at least one surfactant, water and at least one polyglycerol graft polymer. The polyglycerol graft polymer includes a polyglycerol and a residue of at least one carboxylic acid or carboxylate containing compound in an amount less than or equal to about 40% by weight of the polyglycerol graft polymer.

1. A cleaning composition comprising:
an alkalinity source consisting of an alkaline metal hydroxide; at least one surfactant water; and at least one polyglycerol graft polymer comprising:
a polyglycerol;a residue of at least one carboxylic acid or carboxylate containing compound in an amount less than or equal to about 40% by weight of the polyglycerol graft polymer; and wherein the composition is a solid, the ratio of alkalinity source to water is at least 1:1 or greater and the composition is substantially free of phosphorous.
