The present invention relates to a process for making an absorbent core comprising a nonwoven core cover that offers improved performance on holding back fine particulate material after having been exposed to external strain. The present invention further relates to an absorbent garment comprising a topsheet, or an apertured topsheet, and an absorbent core made by the process of the present invention.
