The present invention relates to a media device control apparatus using a wireless terminal and a method thereof. According to the present invention, provided is the media device control apparatus using a wireless terminal comprising: a terminal recognition unit for recognizing the wireless terminal by periodically scanning the wireless terminal located around the media device; a content execution unit for executing the content of the media device; a data storage unit for storing information related to the execution history or the execution right of the content corresponding to the ID set in the recognized wireless terminal; and a control unit for controlling the corresponding content according to detected information by detecting the information of the execution right or the latest execution history of the content corresponding to the recognized ID and by referring to the stored information. According to the media device control apparatus using the wireless terminal and the method thereof, the content of the media device are executed according to the latest execution history or the execution right based on the recognition information of the wireless terminal existing around the media device.
