The present invention relates to a network apparatus and a method for processing traffic. The network apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a flow constituent part configured to receive traffic including abnormal flow that a user does not want and to divide the received traffic into flow; an entropy calculation part configured to calculate the entropy of the respective divided flow and to calculate an average value of the calculated entropy; and a flow classification part configured to compare the entropy of the respective flow with the average and to distinguish abnormal flow based on the comparison results.
