The invention relates to a system for the loading, unloading, and rail transport of road semitrailers, comprising a plurality of wagons (1) constituting a rail train, each of said wagons comprising at least one pivotable carrier plate (14) receiving a road semitrailer by means of the running gear thereof, the system further including a releasable mounting (9) for a fifth wheel (28) that can be gripped by handling equipment which carries said mounting and mounts the latter, alter adjustment, onto the semitrailer kingpin, wherein said filth-wheel mounting is mounted onto a receiving platform (8) which is securely connected to the chassis (2) of the wagon and which is separate from the pivotable carrier plate, in order to support the front of the semitrailer during rail transport. The invention is of interest for rail-transport companies and manufacturers of rail-transport equipment. |
